Topic: Who won the English Civil War [1642-1651]

This is a history based topic in which we will learn about; the causes of the civil war, The Roundheads and The Cavalers, the execution of King Charles 1, Oliver Cromwell, civil war weaponry and the restoration of the monarchy.

Science: Can you feel the force?

In our science topic we will be learning about different forces and carrying out some experiments.


In English, we will write our own stories, convert a story into a play script and write our own diaries. Our class story is: 'Stig of the Dump'.

In Spelling and grammar will be revising using capital letters and full stops correctly; as well as using commas in a list and to seperate complex sentences.

Guided Reading

Guided reading will take place on Tuesday. All home reading and library books will be changed on a daily basis.


In maths, we will be studying multiplication, addition and subtraction and place value. Our focus this nhaf term is on times tables: Be able to recall ALL times table up to 12X12.


Homework will be handed out on Tuesday and Wednesday and should be completed by the following Monday.

It is very important that all homework is completed on time and to the same standard that we expect in school, in order to make it worthwhile. We value your support with this.


Spellings will be given on a Friday to be learnt for the following Friday. It is crucial your child learns their spellings.


PE will be on Wednesday. Please ensure your child has the correct kit [yellow top, black shorts and pumps] please could you also pack an outdoor PE kit for this term [hoody/ tracksuit/trainers].
