Parents Letter

Dear Parents,

Welcome back

We have a busy yet fun half term planned in year two!

In Literacy we will be writing letters and postcards, an information text based on our topic and we will be looking at traditional poems.

The numeracy focus will be addition and subtraction, shapes and telling the time.

Our topic will be Why were Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong very brave people?

PE days will stay the same, so please ensure your child has a kit in school every Monday and Tuesday.

Homework will be given out on a Wednesday and should be back in on the following Monday. Spellings for the half term have been given out, there is also a copy in the pink homework book and are on the website on the year two class pages.

Children need their reading book and diary in school every day.

Please could you make sure your child is wearing their Rainbow Badge everyday as they are an essential part of the schools behaviour policy. Also, could you remind your child about the Golden Rules: We will do as our teachers tell us. We will not hurt anyone by anything we say or do. We will take care of other people’s things.

We appreciate your co-operation, as we feel it’s important that both home and school work together in order to give your child the best possible education.

Also, if you ever have any comments, questions or concerns, we are available for phone calls and meetings (by appointment please) each day before and after school.

Dates for your diary:

Christmas fair: Thursday 1st December

Christmas concert: Thursday 15th December

Christmas party: Monday 19th December

Many Thanks,

Mrs Pearson and Mrs Hughes

Father Derek came to visit!

Father Derek came to visit us to talk to us about the symbols used in the Baptism ceremony. We had a walking vote and named our baby Scarlett Tilly.
